This piece was probably originally written for voice(s) and orchestra, but the only extant version is the one for voice and piano.

Berwald used the music from this piece for both 'Ein ländliches Verlobungsfest in Schweden. Operette in einem Akt' (En lantlig bröllopsfest) and 'Estrella de Soria'.
