Complete title: Erstes Gesellschafts-Quartett für das Pianoforte zu vier Händen, Violine und Violoncello.

Hermann Berens d.ä. [the elder] composed 4 so-called Gesellschafts-Quartette, a type of ensemble which has not been cultivated much by serious composers. The form is the piano trio, albeit with four performers as the piano part is performed by two musicians (four hands), in addition to the violin and violoncello.
