Work comment

It is quite possible that this work was composed for Swedish opera singer Ragnar Grevillius (1850–1920), with whom Blomberg had a close collaboration (e.g., joint concerts). It was published by Julius Bagge, Blomberg's friend from his student years in Uppsala. Together with Bagge, Blomberg wrote the music for 'Mohrens sista suck' [The Moor's last sigh], which is regarded as one of the true classics among Swedish university student spexes.
