Jacob Ekström (1893−1950)

Organist, composer and, choir leader Jacob Ekström was born 29 May 1893 in Trosa and died in Gävle on 18 June 1950. He was educated as an organist at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Stockholm where he ended his studies in 1914. Beginning in 1916 he was employed as an organist and choir leader in Gävle. He also composed a large number of chamber music works including songs, organ and piano pieces, string quartets and four symphonies.
