In no. 1 Sankt Stephan there is a start repeat sign before the anacrusis of bar no. 9, but there is no end repeat sign at the end of the piece, nor have the lyrics more than one stanza

Erich Prieger (1849-1913), to whom the book Sieben Lieder für eine Singstimme mit Begleitung des Pianoforte was dedicated, studied counterpoint under Friedrich Kiel in Berlin at the same time as Hägg. After his studies, Prieger worked as a musicologist and wrote e.g., a book about F. Kiel, and reconstructed the original version of Beethoven's Leonora. Prieger also helped Hägg to have his Nordisk symfoni [Nordic Symphony] performed in Bonn in 1911
