Work comment

Nos. 6, 7, 8 and 9 are also included in the (unpublished) collection 100 norska polskdanser
[100 Norwegian polskas (dances)]. According to the printed music, no. 2 was composed by Sörensen, nos. 5 and 11 "aufgezeichnet von J. Hg.", and no. 10 originating from the neighbourhood of Lake Aursund (in Norway), where Hägg lived 1900-1909.

There is a version of the melody of no. 5 [set in 4/4 (C)] in the Folkmusikkommissionen's sheet music collection at the Svenskt visarkiv (Hs 11, no. 147). The piece shows an annotation (most likely by Olof Andersson) stating: Nos. 147-148 Fjellvisor [Mountain songs], were recorded by J. A. Hägg after an old Sámi woman, who labelled the latter a lullaby.
