On the sheet music, Klint has written that Swedes do not have an actual Folk song [it is unclear whether Klint refers to a national anthem], lyrics or melody as "Bevare Gud vår kung" [God save our King] is English; "Ur svenska hjertans djup" [Once from the depths of Swedish hearts, i.e., The King's Song/the Swedish royal anthem] is flattering the King in a way that is unworthy of the people, as is "Carl Johan vår kung" [Charles (XIV) John, our King]. May therefore a proposed folk song be allowed? The lyrics and music are composed by Swedes and are most likely in accordance with the Swedish national spirit, which no doubt should be the main thing in this case?
