Work comment

The copyist, Fredrik Samuel Silverstolpe, has made an annotation on the copy, stating that this March, set for and used at the procession in St. Nicolai Church in Stockholm at the Riksdagen [Parliament('s opening in)] 1789, is a revised version of Mozart's march in the first Act of the opera 'Idomeneo, albeit Kraus has altered both the theme and character. It is also 20 bars longer than Mozart's march.
