The copyist, Fredrik Samuel Silverkrona, included this Larghetto in his collection of three solo pieces (for fortepiano) including variations, which, according to van Boer, probably indicates that it was intended to serve as the theme of a larger work, 'Tema med variationer' [Theme and variations]
