Work comment
According to the Gehrman edition, this work was probably composed for violin and violoncello (without other continuo instruments). It is however not possible to disregard the fact that it may have been intended for a keyboard instrument.
This work was found in the [at the time] not yet catalogued collections of the library of the Royal Swedish Academy of Music [now the Musik- och teaterbiblioteket]. It was published for the first time on the occasion of the 300th anniversary celebration of Roman's birth.
At the back of the edition, the until then lost pages are presented in facsimile.
