Work comment
The composer's name is sometimes indicated as J. B. [Bernhard] Struwe.
According to Mattias Lundberg's text for the 2017 performance, Struve passed away when there was only the last page of the score left to complete, which was done by two of his friends in the Harmoniska Sällskapet (a joint choir and orchestra in Stockholm). Most likely, this refers to composers Abraham Julius Grundén (1779-1834) and Erik Drake (1788-1870).
Lundberg also states that parts of this work was performed at Struve's own funeral.
