Work comment

One of the ten songs that were awarded (5th place) in the Folksångstävlingen [Folk song competition] in 1901. Wilhelm Peterson-Berger reviewed the competiton under the headline "Vad vi sluppit sjunga" ['What we have managed to escape from singing']

Du ärorika fosterland, där fädrens kummel stå
du höga fjällbekrönta strand, den trogna böljor slå
Du trygga hem, du fridens kust,
Gud sträcke uti nöd och lust,
utöfver dig sin hand.
