Regional music and dance archive with extensive collections of folk music material from southern Sweden, both in the form of original documents and copies.
Smålands Musikarkiv is a part of Musik i Syd. The archive, founded in 1992, focuses mainly on the cultural history of music and social dance in Kronoberg county. The folk music collections are extensive and consist of original material of various kinds as well as copies of collections of material with regional provenance. Researching and making knowledge and materials accessible in the form of physical and digital publications is a priority. The archive's collections and library are open to the public.
